Smrt & kyoot!! Loved the ear akshon!! There's a really cute one on cheezburger today I tried to cut and paste to you, but I don't think it's showing me all the code. It's the Scottish fold one, in case you go look. Go 'head, blow on his tail...........Guess what? Gotta take a CPR class on Tuesday. NOW I'm nervous about THAT!!! Great............
Ah yes, doggie diarrhea ... I remember it well! What got into your goggie? Re: The job; you haven't been there all that long ... give it a chance. And, boy, hear you about feeling the pinch .... lots of layoffs in this area and everyone is struggling so you have plenty of company. Like, the whole country! (Well, excepting for the rich folks and their tax breaks ... they don't care :P) We're keeping our heads above water but certainly aren't getting ahead. Who is? Oh right ... the rich folks with the tax breaks :P
Blackjack, eh? ... I'm too 'tarded for serious card games; my husband enjoys video poker from time to time. I look for the cheapest slot machine and tend to stay there ... I found one that had a max bet of a quarter; my kind of game! I won $80 on it ... 'course, I gave about half of it back ;)
Was up in the Mississippi Delta ... Tunica. It was an inexpensive junket via Harrah's Casinos (courtesy of points racked up on our last trip to Vegas) ... I was using it as an excuse to go check out Graceland in Memphis, since it was only 10 miles away, but we never made it :( Harrah's buses you from casino to casino and we never got away! Oh well, it was an interesting place to people watch, which costs nothing ;)
Sounds like you made it through the transition period pretty well ... akshooly! Was out of town for a few days; just got back this afternoon. I am SO behind on my viewing and messaging here! And here it is ... almost Caturday again :D HUGS, Annie!
Well, everyone knows you can't do sh*t for shinola when your feet hurt! Golly, I wouldn't know where to start shopping for work clothes, it's been so long ... no, I'd start at the Fat Lady Sale Rack! And get really, really comfortable and extremely ugly orthopedic oxfords since I am an old broad and comfort is KEY! Nobody gives a rat's butt what a 56-year-old frump wears anyway, is my motto ;) Ninety percent of my "wardrobe" is cotton knits and denim.
Good thoughts for you always, dear Annie ... don't be so hard on yourself! You're a smart, sharp, quick-witted, kind-hearted gal ... so keep that in mind, will you? ;)
A room of your own with a door ... well, honey, you can't beat THAT with a stick! Heh heh ... hey, 32 hrs. is better than none, fer sure. Congrats and you will not assuredly NOT "screw it up!" I sure have missed sketchfu and all of my FU friends, you included :)
Annie! Boy, by now you know sketchfu went down (AGAIN!) ... I thought it was a goner. But, here we are (AGAIN!) ... so, what's happened in the last week? Nothing new here, same old/same old.
Hey there, girlie! You sound a bit ambivalent about the job ... I understand how that goes :P Well, what happens, happens, right? Oh, back surgery for tenhousecats? My sympathies ... dunno, I don't hear much good feedback about back surgeries ... they seem to cause as many problems as they cure! I'll just stick to a chiropractor, myself. Yeah, sketchfu was down for a few days and I thought it was all over ... I tracked down Andrew's blog and email and he wrote me back, saying that he and Matt would have FU back up and running soon ... and here we are! :D
Glad Skylar has adjusted well, Annie .... I think it's harder on the humans, for sure. Tornadoes? We don't need no stinkin' tornadoes! Actually, Florida gets quite a few ... not to mention hurricanes, tropical storms, lightning strikes (The Lightning Strike Capital of the U.S., I'll have you know!), etc etc etc. Everything but earthquakes. Man, the Midwest has really been hammered this year ... my sympathies!
I hear you about not being able to say goodbye but, as you said, he was in good hands and had many years of loving care from you ... better that he shouldn't suffer. HUGS, girlfriend.
Iowa's not that different from Indiana. A little more hilly. We have a sads, though. Fang died today. We left both dogs at our vets office so they could have their teeth cleaned and then Fang came down with an infection and renal failure. I keep thinking that if I'd just left him the way he was, with just the congestive heart failure, he might have lived a little longer. But at least he was in good hands. I hate that we didn't even get to say goodbye or that he may have thought that we abandoned him.
Heyyyyy, Annie! Ya still in Iowa? I've never been to the Midwest ... is it as flat and endless as reported? I'll bet it's beautiful in a very open sort of way.
Annie ... hai! So good to hear from you :) Terribly sorry about the job, though :P ... do you know what you're going to do next? My computer is repaired and I'm back up and running ... decided I would rather scrimp and save other places in the budget than do without a computer for a moment longer than necessary! Haven't been doing too much biking lately since my husband needs it for commuting (with gas almost $4 a gal, the truck doesn't get much use these days :P)
Always glad to hear from you, my friend :) So sorry the employment situation is still a source of stress ... that's the sucks :( But glad you and the twoey and the fouries (two legs and four legs ... just made that up ... dang, I'm clever ;P) are doing well. Riding the bike? You kidding? Girl, it's COLD! This part of FL has these freakish late-season cold snaps ... it's been in the 30s the last two nights! But, as it warms up, my hub will be taking the bike to work to save on gas ... he has a security license and is a Rent-a-Cop :D Quasi-cop or not, if I saw a tattooed six-footer coming at me, I'd sit up and take notice!
Hi Annie! Boy, FU has really been a mess for weeks ... just today I've finally been able to access it and start viewing and commenting again. How's things? How the goggie? How are YOU?
Sorry things are not great for you right now, Annie :( Especially with a sick goggie on top of it all. Had a peekapoo with congestive heart failure ... she responded well to her daily medication; however, when me and the ex-hub split up, I couldn't take Candy or the two greyhounds, Lucy and Beau, with me as I was moving to a no-pets-allowed place. My ex, who could barely take care of himself, "forgot" to give Candy her pills, and I'm the one who had to take her to the vet to be put down, holding her in my arms. I never quite forgave him for that. Well, that was a cheerful thing to tell you! Sorry, hon. Your goggie has parents who are clearly giving lots of TLC ... that counts for a lot. Eventually, the clouds will part and the sun will shine again ... I hope it's soon. BIG HUG!
TENSER than the last time we talked. I'm trying to decide whether to stay to see if it settles down or it stays uncomfortable. I'm working on my resume, but I still don't know what I really want to do and it's always possible to walk into something worse than what you already have.
Your job situation sounds so TENSE ... I'm sorry about that. But a Caribbean vacation sounds GREAT! I like the idea of you and Mark on a tropical isle, taking it easy :)
Hiya kiddo! Yeah, Brady and Moss threw that game away ... literally. They may have been physically on the field, but mentally they were somewhere else. Not takin' nothin' away from Eli Manning ... he's good! Oh well, there's always next season ;) Everything's ok down here in the tropics ... no blizzards, tornadoes or other terrors to speak of! Well, just the snowbirds on the road ... one of 'em came about six inches from rear-ending us on the motorcycle the other day ... he hit the brakes, skidded on a patch of dirt and we were almost toast ... very scary!
Hello there, Lolfren up in the frozen tundra! Boy, do not envy you. We just came back from a ride on hubby's motorcycle .... admittedly, had the heavy jacket on going out, but it warmed up considerably on the way back ... the first time the bike has been out in about a month. Nobody ever thinks of FL as having an actual winter, but in the north-central part of the state, it can get rilly rilly nippy. Gonna watch the Super Bowl? Wonder if Tom Brady's ankle will hold out :P Nuttin much going on otherwise. Good to hear from you, Annie :)
Y'know, I get that a lot ... "I have a sister/cousin/neighbor/girl I went to school with ... who looks just like you!" Seriously, I have one of those Everywoman Faces ... kinda like Miss PotatoHead! But thanx for the compliment, my fren!
I'm just fine ... so relieved to hear your job is safe for the time being. Gee, I just said hello to Lolcatburglar over at ICHC the other day ... so sorry to hear about her kitteh. Putting pets down is just heart-wrenching.
You are so kind! I've had many scurvy photos taken ... I just don't post 'em ;D You notice none of the ones I do use are that current ... the one I used for Christmas was about the most recent, and that was a good five years ago! My cute girl days are lonnnnnng gone, don't worry ;D P.S. Seriously ... the two year old got a camera? That's a little scary!
Whew, Annie ... glad Xmas Eve went well, at least .... family Christmases can be SO stressful! I don't miss the drama and the knock-down, drag-out fights at ALL. Well, look at it this way ... it's over for another year! Your mom is 89? ... Wow! Mine died four years ago in Jan. ... Christmas Day was her birthday and she would have been 84. HER mother lived to be 100. My paternal grandfather made it to 91 and my father to 88, despite being a flaming drunk. The way I look at it, I can sit on my ass, become an obese, alcoholic chain smoker with terrible eating habits, and probably still live to be at least 80!
We don't do much for Christmas ... in fact, my husband has to work Christmas Day and won't be home until 4, so that means I have the day to lounge around, watch the Christmas movies he hates, and generally relax until about 2, when it'll be time to start cooking. I LIKE spending holidays alone! Sorry to hear about the additional stress at work; feel badly for your co-worker losing her mother suddenly. Anyway, Annie, try to relax and enjoy your holiday ... you've earned it!
Yeah, really ... no sense worrying about it, since it seems to be out of your hands. Anyway, glad that damned cold is going away, finally. At least that's something! Y'know, if this job goes belly up, it probably means there's another, better one around the corner. And if you're meant to keep it, you will. Things do tend to happen in their own good time, it seems. Best to just go with the flow.
Oh man, no wonder you've been on a bummer. So sorry, Annie. That is just rotten. Why do they lay people off during the holidays? ... as if they can't be stressful enough! And you being sick, and all. Wow. Well, not to be cruel, but hopefully it will be the OTHER secretary. Got my fingers crossed for you.
I shut off the 'puter pretty early last night, so I'm late with this reply: Yeah, I suppose white vinegar would work, too. Sounds like your cold is pretty well established, so I would think the best you could hope for at this stage is that it will shave a day or two off the misery. But why not try it? The next time you feel a cold coming on, try the vinegar steam right away ... that's when it makes the biggest difference. Until then, Annie, there's always chikkie soup! Even that can be made more effective with the addition of onions, garlic and a good dash of hot sauce! Yeehaw!
Sorry to hear that, Annie. Once a cold catches hold it's just misery, isn't it?... pleh! At that point you just gotta tough it out, I guess. Everything is fine on this end. I had a coupla sniffles but I steamed them right into oblivion!
Oh noes, u sick, Annie? That's the sux! Yes, I make you chikkie soup and hot teas and have you breath apple cider vinegar steam (one glass or ceramic pot + 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water; boil and breathe ... buh-bye nasty cold germz!) ... u be a noo wooman!
Sorry to be late in getting back to you, and very sorry to hear of your woes, Annie. Don't know if this will help, but some years ago I read something that really changed my life: When you allow other people to push your buttons, you hand them control over your life. That was one of those 2x4 moments .... a big epiphany, like being hit upside the head by a 2x4 piece of lumber! For what it's worth...
TGIF .... AND Caturday! Sounds likes it's looking especially good to you this week, eh? Well, I've got to trundle off and catch a two-part CSI ... catch ya later! (((HUG and NOOGIE)))
Hmmm ... well, if other people are depending on you for their happiness, don't you think maybe THEY'RE the ones who need the therapy?! Just a suggestion....
Yeah, most of us tend to "people please," don't we? We're indoctrinated at a pretty young age to do that, I think. The older I get, the less I give a damn, and - not coincidentally - the happier I become! I LIKE being a bitchy old fart ;D
Hai Annie! How's come you don't post a pic? You've seen me every which way but Sunday, and I still don't know what you look like! Geri (Gerbear) sez she might drag out her HS pic, too ... it would be fun if we could get everyone to do it! ((HUGS BACK))
Yeah, we thought Peyton and crew were going to pull it out ... but that was before the Brady Express rolled in ... well, somebody had to win and it just happened to be the other guys ... sorry, Annie! And I feel bad when Dungy loses, really.
Well, m'dear, your guys played a good game, BUT... as mai husband sez: "You never know which Brady is going to show up; the good Brady or the not-so-good Brady," and today it was the good Brady ... them's the breaks. ;D
In yer dreamz! (Actually, we is conflicted 'cos Tony Dungy got a royal screwing by the evil Grasers, owners of the Bucs; so we like to see him win .... just not against the Patriots!) Well, I no live with Dungy, I live with The Dood and he from Boston ... GO PATS!
U have clearly grasped the concept of opacity, so I'll delete the tutorial now ... using just that tool plus the straight lines, you can come up with some really fun and amazing designs ... look at lisamm's stuff. All geared up for the big game tomorrow?
Hey, another cool effect is to take the Day-Glo bright colors on the left side of the palette, start with the lightest opaque, and keep clicking on it, building up layers of neon color ... looks rilly kool, especially on a dark background ;D
Speaking of that old Italian malady, Fundsarlo (think about it), I just spent $610 out of pocket to find out I DIDN'T have breast cancer, but it was worth it ... for 24 hours there, from the time of the first mammogram results until I went in for another, my heart was beating like a hammer: booboo in the boobie is NOT what you want to hear. Fortunately, after a sleepless night and much wringing of hands, got the good news: "You're fine!" Yay! Me and the hub did the Happy Dance right out there in the parking lot of the Women's Imaging Center! I seriously feel like I've been given a pass and am SO grateful for it.
Ouch! I take it you don't have AAA? I wouldn't go anywhere without my AAA card .... it inevitably pays for itself every year! So ... are you stuck at home without it?
Dang, woman, now your car is out of commission? What next?! How bad is it? Hey, you didn't do the First Poster Dance over at ICHC ... so I did it for you (I mean, if you're gonna quote Donna Summer lyrics, ya GOTTA dance, dontcha?)
Bummer! Well, the first week back has to feel a little strange, getting back into the rhythm and all. Then again, people mostly suck! Or maybe it's just me....
Yellow Submarine actually kinda creeped me out a little .. especially the Blue Meenies ... they were these ugly blue blob creatures, really weird and nasty! Before I draw my version, I'll have to do a little research 'cos it's been years since I watched it .... plus, I was high at the time *inhales* ;D
Hai Annie! I'm good, glad ur feeling better. Yeah, gotta be difficult going back full time, but you can handle it ... no worries! Speaking of footsball, the Patriots were killing Washington last time I checked ... like 52 to 7! So my Boston hubby is happy about that ... he's hoping the Red Sox take the World Series and the Patriots win the Super Bowl; in which case, there will be no living with him! Yep, Yellow Submarine is all Beatles ... go for it! I'll probably do a version, too.
Oh, that's good to hear :) Now I gotta shut down the 'puter and go watch the World Series w/The Hubster ... glad u checked in ... hope to see ya tomorrow! ((HUG 'n KISS))
Hey, you got any chocolate in the house? That supposedly produces seratonin, the "feel good" chemical. Then again, the caffeine in it might increase the jitters. Well ... scratch THAT idea! Don't want a noogie, eh? How 'bout a wedgie? *pulls up Annie's drawers ... runs away laffing maniacally!*
So sorry, mai fren .... yeah, no doubt the surgery sent your body into a tailspin ... I mean, any time you go under the knife, it's a trauma for your system. Depression sux. Well, good you're talking about it 'cos it helps, at least a little. You been on the same meds for awhile? Maybe your system has developed a tolerance for it. Well, your doc will figure it out. Meanwhile, hang out wit yer pals ... draw something fierce ... sketchfu therapy can't hurt, right? Luv ya! ((BIG BIG HUG ... followed by noogie!))
Annie! I clocked out yesterday right after saying Hai (it was a loooooong day, starting with a couple hours of sleep and a mammogram at 8 a.m.) ... so didn't get to chat with you. You're sad? Wassup?
Hai Annie! I apologize for being a fart, but would you mind deleting the pics of the Prehistoric Stone and the two girls? I'd like to play the Harry Pigger game, but would prefer to do it on neutral turf (i.e. your Harry Pigger draw) ... I've surprised myself by wanting to become a better and more serious artist and spent a bit of time of those two pictures. Would you mind? Kthx! Luv ya! ;D
"F" troop! Haha! Ouch ... seriously, that must have been murder. My puppies are 36C and sometimes that's enough to make me long for the days when they were Two Fried Eggs!
I DO have a lot of time on my hands, that's the truth ... so I put 'em to use here! Heehee ... ghosts in the tree is the kind of thing you do when it's late at night and you can't nod off yet. Crystals! Well, they're beautiful and there's something soothing about their smooth texture ... it can't hurt! (My favorite is rose quartz ... said to promote healing of a wounded heart ... whatever)
Sorry you're still having some pain, my friend. Bummer. Didn't you have some severe weather up in your neck of the woods yesterday? We had a big ol' scary Midwestern-style tornado in the FL Panhandle ... BIG sucker, terrifying ... fortunately was nowhere near here! I haven't gone to meebo in I don't know how long ... too busy sketchfuing!
For what it's worth, Annie, I used to be a mass of anxiety myself ... finally decided I didn't owe anyone my sanity (including, and especially, family!) and cut toxic people and situations out of my life ... can't say as it was easy and I hurt some people along the way .... BUT, you do not owe anyone your peace of mind. At any rate, I was pretty well useless to everyone when all stressed out. A couple of years after we got married, my husband and I cut ties and moved away ... made the mistake of letting a few of 'em back in; after they wrecked havoc, we said "goodbye ... don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!" And the last two years or so have been pretty good! So there was over 50 years of unhappiness leading up to it ... I think I earned it!
Oh yeah ... goggies got used to having Momma 24/7 ... oops! Well, at least you only have to do half days for awhile; kinda ease back into it. Not TOO bad, eh?
Retro ... ain't that the truth! Everything comes back into style, eventually. In the 60s my best friend and I combed the thrift shops for 40s fashions ... neat satin and lace stuff that we wore with our embroidered jeans! When they brought bell bottoms back a few years ago, I laffed and laffed! Then I remembered when they first were stylish, I was a size 3 ... and then I cried and cried!
You go to a Halloween party and don't dress up? Isn't that the point?! Well, that and the katula 'n creamz! The six hour drive does sound kinda sucky, though. Glad you like my stuff .... I'm finally beginning to feel comfortable with the mouse and gaining more confidence every day.
'sokay ... I R not big Bucs fans anyhoo! Used to love the Dolphins, though, way back in the day of Bob Griese and Mercury Morris. And the Steelers ... had the hots for Franco Harris! So you can see it's been awhile since I've been big into the footsball. So, good for yer guys! Rah rah sis boom bah!
Not asking much but please go onto my profile and select my newest drawing, get involved and show fu that this is the drawing that will win 100 comments or more amd cheers, the sketchfu drawer who shows most commisment wins a drawing - a very special one!
Bleeding? DO NOT WANT! U okay? And don't be picking on my main man, George! I love him but I'm tired of messing with his hair ... now if I could run my actual fingers through his actual hair, *that* would be a different story... Anyhows, hope you mend fast. Any pain?
yea, i think it's either her or scarletkitty. That's ok. I'm not upset about my age......or your adding 10 years on me. You're the cutest biker chick i ever did see!!!!
Hey, don't know where I got the idea we were the same age ... hell's bells, didn't mean to tackle on 10 years! It goes fast enough! Think I got confused 'cos we've both been married 11 years ... I think maybe it's COL who's my age.
Hai Annie! I've tried accessing ICHC and can't ... it keeps aborting; tried other links to get to the meebo room (i.e. cheezfrenz) and it's still doing the same thing! Don't know what to make of it...*sigh*
Hey, Annie, thanks for the head's up ... finally caught the show. Last year we were up camping in Monson, MASS. and the only thing that kept us from starvation was this great little diner in neighboring Palmer, run by a funny guy we nicknamed "Karl with a 'K,' the Finicky Finn." He put out a good and outrageously cheap breakfast ... never scarfed down so many fried potatoes in my life!
U phunnee! Don't I WISH I looked like Bettie Page! She had the perfect face and figure ... a completely natural beauty, sexy but not trashy (K ... there *were* those bondage pictures, but we won't talk about that!)
My bad. Call me a 'tard, but I find the cheezfrenz threads difficult to follow ... I've also gotten out of the habit of using LOLspeak, since I don't visit ichc much anymore ... sketchfu has my total attention these days. Most of the peeps I like best from Cheezburger (like you!) stop by here from time to time, and there's also the ever-popular meebo. Am sorry I missed the show about diners, though ... diners rock! There's actually a diner rescue operation that buys the old ones and lists them online ... it would be so cool to have one in the backyard (if I had that kind of backyard), renovate it and use it for a studio/guesthouse!
Didn't mean to "shout" (as I understand writing in all caps to be "shouting") but you startled me, Annie! I just posted my apologies at cheezfrenz ... I'm not technically skilled enough to do an actual art "job" and wouldn't want to disappoint someone, is all. But I thank you, again!
Yes, i believe it is. it's not incapacitating, just a little uncomfortable. i have to keep vaseline on them. i wanted to use neo sporin, but she said no because it gets in ur eyes, but i don't see the problem there.
Hai Annie ... WIP means Work In Progress; decided to stop halfway through and save it 'cos I've almost lost a couple of pieces by waiting too long .... oh noes!
Ah, Ernie Kovacs ... well, when I drew Jackie Gleason for the hub, I was thinking of the comedians of that era I actually liked, and Ernie Kovacs popped into my head. He was such a nut. When everyone else was basically doing vaudeville, he was ad libbing like crazy ... I loved him, especially as Percy Dovetonsils, the effete poet with the fruity combover and the goofy coke bottle glasses that made his eyes as big as cannon balls! He was great.
Ohhhh .... well ... he IS knock kneed, bow legged and chicken breasted, but he's also very, very kyoot. They are not mutually exclusive! Here, have a nice tin can .... that's better!
Hi...I hope you don't mind that I added you as a friend. I happened to notice that you and Menopaws are pals and correspond with each other regularly. She's a good gal and always supportive with her kind words of encouragement, cheers and zany humor. I wanted to extend the same courtesy to you as all my other friends so, here's the deal: This is your official invitation to draw a GOAT and become a charter member of the legendary and exclusive Goat Club! Won't you draw a goat and join the 'Goat-A-Thon'! got goat? In Goat We Trust. hehe. I will make regular updates to the Goat Club Members List which will list all members' names and links to their goat drawings at: http://sketchfu.com/profile/EC Hope to see a Goat pic from you soon!!! Aloha!
Hey Annie, yeah, I chatted wif Meno earlier that day. :) Sorry about yesterday at 4. I totally forgot. :( I was in bed watching TV and the note I had made was on my desk... I'm so forgetful... How about today 2 EST? :)
Thank you, kind fren! That WAS 30 years ago ... we're all hot at 25! I think peeps are getting confused about is meebo Sat, is meebo Sun? As soon as you mentioned it this afternoon, I shot right over ... waited for you, but ended up chatting with Flartus and BonzoGal, so it was fun. Would've been more fun with ya! Maybe tomorrow? Yvi wanted an earlier time (she IS in Europe, after all), so she suggested 2 p.m. EST Sunday. OK by me. See you there?
He was talking about the musical "Annie," you nitwit! Ha! Chat? I thought that was on Sunday? I was just over there and ain't nobody home. I was chatting with Yvi this morning ... we agreed to meet back there tomorrow around 2 p.m. EST.
Ha! Yeah, Jackie Gleason was so LOUD! Not my favorite, either. But I loved Art Carney. Anyway, like to keep the hubby happy, y'know? And Gleason is his comic idol, so what can you do?

That kitteh R smrt!
It has nothing to do with nothing, other than I saw it on YouTube and got a big laugh out of it ;D

Have a good one, Annie!
