About me? "Sketchfu Around the World" is driving me crazy.

But besides that, I'm also beginning my MA in linguistics at UofT this year. I'm most interested in studying first nations languages; I've recently been studying a plains algonquian language called Blackfoot. I tried what you said and I didn't get a clipboard, nothing happened I have windows xp maybe I am doing something wrong. Where or what program does the clipboard come from? Maybe it is a part of one of your art programs, which I don't have as of yet-no tablet.hmmmm

Thanks for the helpful tip. I'll give it a try and see what happens. I am completely computer illiterate lol but I learn more and more every day. Only had this one for about a year and a half. Never owned one before. When I was in school computers looked like adding machines and you had to run punch cards to program them yikes. Soooo..as you can see I know nothing lol. Hey DZ when going through your pics and reading some of the posts, I noticed that you took your pic from heros into I think it was photoshop or something, how did you do this, seeing as I saw the whole drawing screen, is there a way to save from here. I know I can print a picture off the final pic, but I have found no way to save my work in case something goes haywire on here. I am so computer stupid, that I am not sure what I can and can't do. Any help would be appreciated.

That was really great. Although I can speak Nihongo fluently (having been born and raised in Japan for 13 yrs, I can recognize but a few Kanji characters--unfortunately. But I surmised from the context of the phrase you'd written to say: 'Yes, I am Chinese but I do not speak the Chinese language. What about you?' Hey, your Japanese was great!!! Grammatically correct and I understood it perfectly. So there, I am even more impressed. I hope you can understand the following (I have to write it romanticized because for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do foreign text): Watashi wa hanbun Nihon-jin to hanbun Koku-jin (Black/Afro-American) desu. Ima watashi wa Hawaii ni imasu. Anata wa Canada-jin desu ka? OK, I'm sure that was a breeze for you. Anyway...its great knowing you and your art. And again, I'm impressed about the fact that you are familiar with so many different and diverse languages. Till the next time, sketch on, my friend, sketch on!

i haven't bought a comic since i was about 15, but thats around the time my (older) brother started collecting so i still read the ones that look interesting.
if you were in the area i'd lend them, but i highly doubt he'd be ok w/me mailing somewhere.

also bei uns is das ganz einfach wg so wörtern wie 'website', 'spellcheck' und 'web browser', weil wir die im deutschen auch benutzen^^ und das mit dem "abändern" haste jz (jetzt)auch gelernt :D lol

BTW, another good trick with heads is just to imagine there's a box around them, one of the sides of the box is on a plane with the face. It's a lot easier to get the box at the right angle and tilt than something as complex as a face.

genau gesagt komme ich aus Altenhaßlau, das ist ein kleines Dorf in Hessen (ca. 40km süd-östlich von Frankfurt)und ich schwör dir, du verstehst kein wort von dem was ich sage, wenn ich mit diesem Akzent anfange :D und mit dem Bayrisch, das kann ich verstehen, dass du das nciht verstehst, ich habe da auch manchmal meine Probleme damit ^^

I was thinking of trying to do a compilation picture of sketchfu around the world... maybe waiting a while until all the chains settle down a bit.

j michael strasynski made a the one shot rising stars, which is actually more of the story and powers of heroes, the x-men stuff is more the explanation of what happened to them. its actually verbatim from xman, a mutation in their dna caused them to each have powers.
a few similarities b/n heroes and stars; heroes, ppl start developing powers after an eclipse, rising stars- a shooting star. niki/jessica is one of the main bad guys in stars b/c jessica over powers her but theyre the exact same characters. - story of sis dying, one exhibits powers and the other doesn't remember for a while...There are two that are considerably more powerful than any others (aka sylar/p.pettrelli) but in stars this turns out to be not true, so maybe next season we'll see a crazy powerful guy.

strazynski created a show, i think either battle star gallactica or farscape, i'm not sure which one (i didnt watch either)

amazing stuff, its a real joy watching your sketches come alive while listening to django. i get tips not only for sketch fu by watching you work but for other mediums as well.

Yeah, it does seem to be 'redo' i think. Which is still a shame as I have been using it alot since I heard of it.. Sometimes you just want to toggle a few times to see if a line has the effect you were looking for.. But it screwed my last drawing up alot more (changed color, added random lines and changed curves) so I guess I'll be cautious with it. Thanks again for telling me :)

Yeah, Heroes is great! A lot of the episodes are really cheesy though. The season finale was on about a week ago over here in London and yes it wasn't that good, I think sylar turns into a cockroach or something like that.

why?

do yourself a favor and buy some oil paints and just play around like you do on sketchfu. It also took me years to get the courage to buy some paints. you have talent and you will be great. My sister was a lawyer and I knew that she had hidden talent from when we were kids, so I encouraged her to start and now she is incredible, and is no longer a lawyer!!! Just buy your basic colors to start, and you can clean your brushes with ivory liquid or bar soap. You don't need turpentine. Expand your comfort zone, that is what life is all about. You won't be sorry you did, in fact you will wonder what took you so long. I wouldn';t waste my time if you weren't a hidden talent. You got it, now flaunt it.

If you do anything on canvass I would love to have you as a featured artist of the month, you can paint while you are away at school. It will still take us months to have the gallery ready because we will have to renovate it. What are you going to study? Have you sold your art before?

I have a feeling it may have something to do with pressing the 'y' key to redo. I think that may mess it up sometimes. Also, I'm using Linux, not Windows, maybe the flash player used on this site is not 100% accurate on Linux. Maybe we should do some experiments :) .

Phanx "Dzlato" ...Heapz of people have asked me how too draw. And this was one of my most simplistic ideas to relay the message across. Your worx still really blow me away. On straight lines, definitely not painstaking care, i don't have the patience! What you do is click and hold with the left mouse button, then while holding it right click. Then left click where you want the line to end. Have fun with straight lines!

Cool, yeah I completely agree, I often do the same, but sometimes it's better to have just the shape around the eyes there and then you can add more detail in later.
