Hey man, hows everything? Actually I'm still in High School, last term. Hopefully I'm joining college next year, but I'm going to the medical field rather than art as my career... I've thought a lot about it. But I'll never stop drawing... its simply the best thing I love to do. What about you? you studying art?
sup man, I found a site that you might be interested in... It's a nice site too but please dont let it take you from Sketchfu. I just felt I had to let you know about it, all the best. http://ratemydrawings.com/
Hey Joe! thanks for all the cheers! hope things are good with you, love your new art! nice bold colors, really like them. Know it takes me a while to say my proper thanks, but letting you know you are appreciated! :D
srry it took me a while to write, the site is kinda slow
I feel kinda the same, since people in our age are not much here. Deviantart is good, but I have to say, sometimes I feel its dead! If you have some exceptional work, it's going to be nice. If you're serious about it, you can have some criticism more than here, and Conceptart more than both... thats where Lewicron added his work.
I like photoshop more than here only because the canvas here is so small. But Sketchfu is really fun! I think its about fun more than heavy artwork, to some extent though.
I wish you good luck. peace
Oh, ah! Thanks for the present! Wow! I've been considering animating an icon recently too. :3 I will definitely look into that! Thank ya, thank ya! I haven't found anything super cool to sent you yet, but I'll let ya know when I do. ^_^
thank you:) and yeah im sorry, i knoe it must have taken u hella long to get to the comment box...lol..well take care:)i admire ur work, it is just outstanding :)cya!
Cheers for the many cheers JoeB...I enjoyed reading your comment on my profile & thanks for the friend add ;-)...the 'Cheer Bombing' only stung a little. ;-P Very appreciated from a fellow Canuck! Your work is very admirable! L8*
That last comment got ALLLL messed up in the 1st two lines!?? SO,it actually STARTS at the 2nd,"Hi there friend....." Silly ol' me, has to write a stinkin' NOVEL ON: COMMON SENCE??^%##**%^@><%& :)
Hey there friend! Yes, the igloo IS NOT FINISHED,because i had 2 step Hi there friend! YES,the igloo IS NOT finished yet,due 2 a six year old wanting to use the computor! I didn't want to loose my picture. For some odd reason, that's actually happened (in the not so long ago past**??!) Thanks soo much 4 your encouraging cheers and comments!*** I also like how you pointed that out to me in a refreshingly HONEST WAY!I really DO appreciate the fact that you even just take\took the TIME to look and reflect apon my work. Thanks a buncccchhhhh! :)
Thank you so SO much!!! You looked again and cheered again! That was really nice! I am so impressed with your newest pic! This girl is so amazing, I would love to see more work in this style! You were right in your comment on weezie... I thought that was also magnificent, I saw the art, it was wonderful, but I have to admit I also loved the content! Thanks again Joe!
Hi Joe, please forgive my terrible typing, I am not illiterate, only appear to be when I type. Thanks for the comment back, fire lady is a project that has to live up to she brings the snow... I have several other ideas for storms, spring etc. Each project has to convey the essence of the element if I am to really get to where I want to go with it, her hands holding the fire and the background must pull the entire peice to the title. I bit it off and now I have to chew it. So I am really appreciative you like it so far. It is evolving for sure! Great to hear from you!
Hey Joe, thanks for the cheers... I have some work left omn the fire lady, but still appreciate your commen and cheers... I've been impressed with your work, need to get back and take a closer look at several pics, Thanks again!
Thanks, well I rahter spend 60 min on a painting than moving a little mouse around, so u not really going to see this happing. Less time is the challenge here. the more u spend, the less u understand.
Eighteen minutes was all I had the time for right then. ;) Hopefully I'll get back in the groove soon to do a 1+ hour job. I'm glad you liked it anyhow. ^_^
Thanks so much for sending that along! So useful! Wow! *clings to new vector program* And I hope you had a Merry Christmas (or, if you don't celebrate Christmas, Merry 'Day') too!
Here's something interesting about that program: It must have a blurry, low resolution picture to work. I uploaded a smallish JPG of one of my T-shirt designs and it separated/blocked the shading and made the image blurry. All in all, you can't make something that's already sharp any sharper without ruining it. Illustrator will make some excellent sharp images with Live Trace and Live Color, but they must be a solid color and you have to smooth the edges when you're done. Either way, the website you found has everything that's needed in one spot. Very useful! :D Thanks again!
I'd like to return an equally interesting link here: http://www.animationmentor.com/index.cfm Some Pixar artists set up an online animation course, it looks amazing! I can't sing up for it because of my age, but I though you might possibly find it useful. :) Don't forget to tap the logo in the upper right corner.
Stunning photo of Calgary!!
Thanks for your comment on the lettering. I got so tired of doing it and it was SO nice to have it specifically commented on, made the long boring effort worth it *L* I do a lot of stuff on zoom because I am a detail freak. Happy Holidays and love that bear you did!
Ah! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I'm glad you approve of my style. ^_^ I really don't know where the stuff comes form, I just seem to combine every single style I like into one mishmosh along with how my own eyes see the world. Very strange indeed.
I hope things are going OK with Photoshop. Scary, isn't it? It completely drained me the first time I tried to figure the workings out. @_@ Fact are, it's impossible (or very difficult) to take it all in one hit. Huge program, not much to go on. Intimidating.
I have a question. I am doing some professional photo retouch for a photographer friend right now on PS and while my wacom pen works, my wacom mouse does not, but my regular mouse will, Have any clue what that is all about? Please do draw more, your stuff is funny and astounding. :)
Hey Joe...are you learning photoshop? I use Paint Shop Pro, Corels dumbed down and cheaper edition but am getting into photoshop now. Thanks for the comment on my hypnotic draw. ambM said it was Vegas, when played at about 64x it indeed looks JUST like the neon running lights there!!
Hi Joe, Thanks for the nice comment on my profile. I'm glad you like my drawings. I print some of my sketchfu drawings and give to colleagues at work, but that's about it. I mainly just enjoy drawing them. Thanks again. Happy sketching.
I actually had trouble finding a pic that I wanted to draw. This one was actually Randy Moss who we no longer have, so I just changed the number. If we still had Randy with this running back we would win the Super Bowl this year....even if we are hurting in QB position.
Oh, I see! :D Sorry it's taken so long for me to respond, Fu sketching has taken over my life. By all means, learn Photoshop! I will never hold it against you for trying to figure out such a massive and amazing program. I just installed a CS3 trial a yesterday. Bridge stopped working because of another Abobe video program installed and I lost several videos. :( They were good 'uns too. So now we have CS3, it's so ugly compared to the last design. It had better have more potential then CS2. ANYWAY! There are a few really great official Adobe Photoshop magazines out there, if you're interested I recommend you check one (or two, they're delectable)! The mags are chock full of every design that is going to be popular in the coming months (I have proof. A store just popped up in the mall with very similar designs to what I saw in a Photoshop issue five months ago. It's eerie! I'm ahead of the news! O.O) Have fun, I wish you the best of luck!
Thank you very much! :D You have witnessed the awesomeness that is DREW. XD I will get back to my fantasy drawings ASAP! I'm glad I got to finish it before lunch break is over, though.
Ha ha! I liken my skills to a box of crackerjacks. Sometimes the peanuts, the best part, sink to the bottom of the box and you need to shake it up to get them to show. :P To tell you the truth, I don't remember shaking the box..! O.O Now THAT'S what I call early-morning logic.
Thanks! XD That hand will never cease to confuse me, but I'll spend my time from now on ENJOYING that scene instead of drawing it! I will definitely keep up my Ouran fan art, it's so much fun. :) I hope you come up with some good ideas for sketching. Good luck!
Thanks! Sure, I'll dig up the ref pic again! Just be sure you wear a thinly woven blindfold to block the mistakes I made. XD The comments on the hand didn't mean that my sketchfu was better than the original AT ALL. Hardly! I messed with that hand and messed with it again and finally realized that I put it too far away from his body! :O Oh well. Looks pretty all the same. http://s211.photobucket.com/albums/bb261/HHMACHSHOP/?action=view¤t=PDVD_029.jpg
Very fantastic gallery, you have great drawing skills and an awesome color sense. Sorry to hit you with all the votes and comments at once but i am behind and this is a faster way for me.
Hey What's up Iam Barly on right cuz right now Iam at high school lol hope your havin fun drawing and stuff lol well peace out iam going to my class ^_^ Iam going to do some test's and shit iight Iam outtie
Hey, thanks for stopping by from time to time and cheering for my work. It means a lot to me. You yourself have got some amazing art, so I've added you if you don't mind. :)
Hehe. .Well i have noticed that the better you see the pic from the thumbnail, the more views u get. So maybe it's that too.
Thanks so much for the cheers and nice words! :D
Must say I'm really astonished how quickly the work got so much attention.. :o
Cool idea Joe. Pick whichever and start it. Yeah, on the patent quote I thought it was funny just like the IBM lead that said
"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers."
- Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943
Thanks :) With the cowboy, the thing I was drawing from was proportioned differently than the sketchfu window.. I kind of like how it's framed though, and the extention of the horizon past the white.. *shrug*
That doesn't mean I'm dead to the sketchfu world, even during the two week break! ;P I love your sketchfus! :D Gotta check back all the time, keep on my toes!
This is your official invitation to draw a GOAT and become a charter member of the legendary and exclusive Goat Club! Won't you draw a goat and join the 'Goat-A-Thon'! got goat? In Goat We Trust. hehe.
Well, yes! Wishing for winter. I just love winter.. the cold and dark and snow.. I know, what I love about winter is usually the stuff that most people hate. but I don't mind. :D
lol, I don't know I am out there somewhere, especially since I looked last night and there was not nearly the amount there is today! I think it doubled overnight. Crazy, I wish there was a way to make money at it! lol I'd be RICH, RICH RICH. LOL :p
Hey Vin Diesel, lol, you look sort of like him. Well I just don't know, there has to be more out there with the pic, can't figure they are all from the one site. That is just crazy, don't even know who the person is that has it on their site. Lol. who'da thunk it?
When I made my first "my friend and I" drawing, I didn't get the reaction that i had intended to. I try to make it not so obvious for the younger people that are on the site. Honestly, I think potheads are funny. Very entertaining people to watch. :)
ha! lol that explains all the views, lol, I don't know who the person is, at first I was kind of miffed, but I figure that she is not passing it off as hers that is all I really care about, I left her a little comment on the page, lol, told her to at least give people the heads up that it is my work, not hers...oh well the price we pay for starzdom...lol just kidding. By the way did you know that you are " SO AWARE!" LOL, thanks=star
I am rather blushing *-* I didn't even realize it was the most viewed behind sketchfu, lol I guess your mantra on the profile is true you are so aware! lol...I am sure it has a lot to do with the young girls...lol, though a few of the older ladies have a thing for old Johnny though I guess. lol. thanks again, and get drawing Mr. So Aware! thanks again, it put a smile on my face.
amazing what you caught there, I never notice any of that stuff, lol, I am too busy trying to keep up with all the messages, lol, thanks for the heads up!
Ummm, no, I'm sorry! D:> The only animation I've done is a few avatars in Adobe ImageReady and some fun on BenettonPlay Flipbook. If I were you, I'd ask Joseph Blanchette from Legendary Frog: http://legendaryfrog.com/index.php He's quite settled and friendly. :) Although the forms he animates are simple, he really knows his stuff!
I wish you the very best on Flash Player, I adore those animations! Also, thank you for the cheers!
Thanks for the crit! :)
You're right about the split and his face showing too much. I had envisioned him on a saddle (a bit like a camel's) but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.. Tried to show him more from the top but it just didn't look good, so I got frustrated and decided to post as is ;)

lovely gallery you've got there.
-will take a closer look when I have more time Dx-

Hope you don't mind me adding you to my friend list. I've got to come back and peruse your gallery. Your work is awesome!
Enjoy the day!

L'il piggy bank turned a little pale when you said that.
