Pardon the quick, crummy sketch, but I heard from Gerry this afternoon and she asked me to pass along that her beach home - the one in Galveston that she's been working so hard on for months - is expected to be completely destroyed. In Houston, they may be without power for up to two weeks after Hurricane Ike blows through. Bad news all around. They've hunkered down with plenty of supplies (and Gerry's elderly parents); but Texas in late summer with no power will NOT be fun.
